As I have said many times I feel like my musical tastes are the best.. I like to share musical tastes and what not because I feel that if we share with others the real good music then it will change the mainstream and maybe change the world.. ambitious right?.. but who did the movie on cd before biggie.. and if so who did it better than "Ready to die".. when certain artists get that head of steam and that following.. when the music is good it can make some moves.. anyway here is what i was checking for or listening to in 07' some of the stuff is older some of it new... there will be different categories for each type of artist.. I hope you enjoy and if you really want to support check out the myspaces.. check out the mixtapes.. whatever.. here's what my world sounded like in 07.. or what I like to call..
"What My Headphones Bumped in 07"
The first Group of Music is the mainstream.. the people we all bumped in 07..(on some level)
NIN - Year Zero - was one of the best of the year.. "Great Destroyer" might be my favorite track of the year
Mark Ronson - He seriously took a while for me to grow on.. I really wasn't into him when I first heard "Here comes the Fuzz" but after seeing him live.. and that Lilly Allen song.. I went out checking for him and the things I learned changed my opinion.. his work with Saigon, Ghostface, MOP and so on showed his love for the game..
Portishead - I was put onto them this year and they haven't left my little ass MP3 player yet.. Breakbeats and hip hop.. with her voice is the best...
Of course Ghostface is on here the most constant emcee in the game and the best storyteller since Slick Rick comes back strong.. and
Most People didn't like the production on this album but i loved it.. it showed maturity.. and growth.. mofos need to realize with money comes responsibility with growth.. shit should not sound the same as 92
Real Talk I wasn't a big UGK fan my whole life I respected their hustle but really didn't start checking for them until Pimp was locked up the last time.. Bun just went so hard with the mixtapes and the movements.. that I had to check them and I did.. well this right here was just so hard I couldn't stop.. Pimp will be dearly missed in hip hop.. 3 n tha morning was that jam though.. and "International Players Anthem" is still my ringtone.. R.I.P Pimp C
speaking of "International Players Anthem"
The Reemergence of this man.. This has been his year.. no album.. just verses.. wack songs.. he remixes it.. and that shit pops.. not to mention his Mick Boogie mixtape.. and this man mightve been man of the year..
Honestly this is the last major release that I have because I'm really not into it.. I liked it but not as much as Be.. and felt that he is growing into something else.. Honestly I love this album but lost a lot of love for the emcee.. I don't know why.. its here cause my personal opinion is its great.. but there was something missing..
